One of our unit managers at Dickson's House care and nursing home is going on parental leave this summer, and we are now looking for a replacement.

The position is a permanent employment with placement at Dickson's House. When the regular unit manager returns to work after parental leave, the placement may change to another of our care and nursing homes within the organization.

Dickson's House is a modern care and nursing home located in the lively and popular Lunden area. Here you will find bright, generous facilities with good conditions for activities and community. The home also has a highly appreciated restaurant that is open to everyone. The operation includes 101 apartments focused on both somatic care and dementia.

In the role of unit manager, you will lead engaged employees to meet the needs of tenants and develop the operation based on trust-based leadership. You will work closely with three unit manager colleagues and be part of the management team together with the operations manager and other unit managers. The assignment includes responsibility for finance, personnel, and work environment, with support from support functions within finance, HR, and quality development, as well as a safety service in the evenings and weekends and an administrator with planning responsibility and care supervisors.

To support and develop you in your leadership, the City of Gothenburg offers various introductory modules and competence development programs aimed at managers.

About You

Qualifications

  • We are looking for someone with a university degree of at least 120 credits, e.g., in care and nursing, social work, or behavioral science.
  • You have good knowledge of applicable legislation, including the Social Services Act and the Health and Medical Services Act (SoL and HSL).

Meritorious but not a requirement

  • Previous experience as a manager.
  • Previous experience in care and nursing work.
  • If you have completed a leadership training course.

You can adapt your work when conditions change and follow up on the operation's results in a structured way. You are attentive to others' needs and meet both employees and tenants with care. With your ability to engage and persuade others, you create energy and motivation at work, while collaboration and respect for different perspectives permeate your working method.
